Hi folks! While this month wasn't quite as productive as last month, we still wanted to go over what we did and talk about things going forward!

That said, let's start with some non-project info:

Transparency

The good news

We (tentatively) have a job again!

This week we were able to secure two job offers, both wanting us to start on Monday. We still have some finalization to do, but we should hopefully be able to get things back on track with our finances if everything works out :D

The bad news

Unfortunately, the bad news here comes twofold:

1. As with last time we had a job, we won't be able to work on our projects as much anymore. Our schedule is a bit better and much more stable though, so we should hopefully be able to get some work in
2. The "if things work out" is still a pretty big "if". Both of the jobs lined up are more on the physical side of things and will involve a lot of moving around that's hard for us to do. We would try to find something easier on us, but that hasn't really worked out, and we're getting too close to losing our house to be picky

As always, we're gonna do our best to make things work out- it just might be a bit difficult again going forward for us. We'll see how it goes though ^^;

With that out of the way, let's get into the cool stuff!

What we've completed

Form Fox

Bug fixes and improvements

We squashed some pesky bugs that snuck into the code, and we also made it easier to import and export forms!

Birthday Bot

Quality of life changes

Previously, birthdays were sent out based on the date that the bot's timezone was in. We fixed this so that it sends them based on the date of your server's timezone now. No more getting birthdays a day late in far-out timezones!

We also added the /admin delete command to make it possible to delete birthdays from users that have left the server! In the future this will be automatically handled, but we have to wait on Discord to approve the functionality we need first

Bug fixes and improvements

We also fixed some bugs for Birthday Bot this month! Hopefully things should run smoother now :3

CDN

Public release

The code for our personal-use CDN is now available on GitHub! It's still a mess and hasn't been cleaned up yet, but now that it's public we plan to make it look and run a bit better soon

What we're working on

A major update for Form Fox

We're currently working on an update for Fox that will change up a ton of stuff, and will ultimately make some new changes much easier to implement later! This update is a bit of a precursor to the Sections update we're planning, and will handle a lot of the conditional logic aspect. Stay tuned for more info!

A smaller side project

I'm the spirit of learning new things, and to give us a fresh environment for it, we've been working on a small side project that we plan to finish up soon! This project will come with a write-up about some choices we made, what we've learned from it, and how we plan to use that knowledge for future projects. We were hoping to finish it in time for this post, but with the job stuff we've been doing recently, that didn't quite happen. We'll let y'all know when it's done, though!

The dash, Syscomm, and Alex

As always, these things are still on our radar, and we've been chipping away at them! For the sites, we're taking what we've learned from testing and smaller projects and putting it towards these especially in order to create interfaces that look and feel good. For Alex, we're redesigning a lot of their features from the ground up in order to create a better experience with the bot. We're looking forward to getting more info out soon!
