Hey folks! We wanted to get back into monthly reviews for the things we do, so here we are :3
Let's get into it!
Back in April, we focused on cleaning up the codebase and fixing various bugs. Most of these were only changes seen on the backend, but they helped to make Sheep easier to maintain going forward
We also fixed a handful of bugs to make your experience better overall!
We also released premium! This update added a limit to the number of saved colors that users can have, and set up entitlements and payments to raise that limit. Patreon subscribers received an entitlement free of extra charge <3
Finally, we put out some updates that make the experience with server-based roles better for users. There's now a /color list
command that users can run to check which roles are available in the server, along with some fixes that were needed
Like with Sheep, we went ahead and fixed some bugs to make things work better!
We also released premium! This change added a limit to the number of forms per server, and a way to increase it. Like before, patreon subscribers are able to get an entitlement without extra payment
At long last, we finally added the ability to remove roles from users after various events! You can set these up the same as event-based role additions: using /form roles add
. As an example, you can add a specific role when a user submits their response, then remove it and swap it for a different role after the form is accepted
We fixed some issues with various features on the backend, and added some better testing environment handling. Nothing too special, but still pretty handy to have!
We added proper preview embeds for blog posts, along with a webhook that posts them to our Discord server. These are mostly just nice-to-haves, but we wanted to include them here still
We're still working on the dash! Right now, we're currently focused on building the layout and structure of the site. We want to give y'all the best experience we can, and we know a big part of that will come from having a clear and usable interface :3
Folks who have been keeping an eye on the Github logs in our server have probably seen that we've started working on Syscomm again! Syscomm is a system-oriented notes app that we originally made years ago in the LOVE2D game engine. At some point we decided to recreate and redesign it as a web app, but it was put on the backburner while we focused on other projects.
We've started working on it again for a few reasons:
While we don't have a timeframe on this, we're excited to hopefully get it out for everyone soon :D
Something that we haven't talked about too much is the rewrite we've been working for Alex, our hub server helper. We've gotten a lot of the core functionality built, but we're still working on adding in some of the extra features that Alex has now (like tickets, syncing, and self-roles). We're hoping to have a beta for this bot coming soon, so keep an eye out for that!
That's about it! Our current plans are to continue chipping away at the projects above as well as to continue trying to figure out our financial situation
If you've read this far, please consider subscribing to Patreon or tipping on Ko-Fi! We're going through a bad financial situation at the moment, and we greatly appreciate anything that comes our way
Anyhow, we hope everyone has a great day! We'll be back next month with more updates :3
